We Indians basically know India by its very two to three common names such as 1. India 2. Bharat 3. Hindustan, but did we even have any clue that our country has many names and each name has its own history and its own reason behind it. We are the responsible citizens of such a unique nation that stands with its 23 different names known all over the world. Our motherland is the most populous democracy in the world. A federal constitutional republic governed under a parliamentary system having 29 states and 7 union territories!!! these states were re-organised on a linguistic basis in 1956, under Sates Reorganisation Act. During its journey from 1947 to 2017 this country has gained as well as lost many things but yet with all its ups and downs our nation has come a long way since its Independence on August 15th 1947.
Indian. The word itself holds a huge meaning to the people living on this great land of sacrifice. Sacrifice of lives of many men and women for the freedom of India. Sacrifice of small kids by their parents during many fights and wars, so much sacrifice of blood of our Indian people, so much sacrifice when the Britishers ruled over us using their whips so brutally with so much of cruelty to make us do their work forcefully. We are the proud men and women of our very own land our very own nation India. We the people of India are called as Indians and we as Indians have many duties and responsibilities towards the betterment and progress of our nation. The politicians or the members of our parliament or the members of our Indian constitution or those working as the employees of our Indian government are not the ones who are only responsible for the development of this nation, even we as the children of our country have some responsibilities towards the development of our nation. We need to realise our responsibilities and our duties towards its betterment. Our Indian constitution has passed few right for the Indians so that they may not be bonded but feel free to raise their voices, feel free to work effortlessly day and night for its mother our very own country India.
India is intolerant but even patient at times of real aggressive callings, later showing its strength displaying into harboring the needs of its own countrymen. India is day by day getting better in providing the good education to its children but will become the best one day. In fields of food and grain India’s production attains its position between first to sixth rank in the list along with other countries. Today India has self- sufficiency in food production and exports. With many successful experiments in the field of medical and pharmaceutical we have eradicated various epidemics and polio from our nation. Life expectancy grew upto 68.89 years which was only 32 years at the time of Independence. The Indian Armed Forces which has made India proud among the other countries of the world is one of the fourth largest military power in today’s world. We are the only nation in the world which gave every adult the right to vote from its very first day of Independence. Our nation grew up to be the nation, that elected woman as speaker, Prime Minister and President. Now despite having almost nil self-reliance on defence technology and space technology, today we are one of the most advanced nation in this field. All thanks to our Indian Space Research Organization. Our nation has been developing technical education sector steadfastly, which resulted into green revolution, resulting in increase of food grain production more than four times, our own space programs, eradication of epidemics and lastly our envious IT sector.
As Indians lets come together, stand hand in hand, work for the betterment of ours and our nation, lets as one family of a single nation India with 29 states, of 22 different languages, and 9 different recognized religions stand united hand in hand with no bias feelings of richness, big and small, low caste and high caste, work for the development of our mother, India who takes care of us just like a mother who treats her own children, we are placed in her lap so lets give our some contribution and make her feel stand proud all over the world, lets make the people of other countries shout out our names with praise and respect, lets together show them that we Indians are no less!!
