Each and every one of us has fantasized about a trip to Goa with our friends, the party hub of India, the place which puts the life in "nightlife".
Recent developments show that party seems to be over for Goa. The chief minister has made it clear that any activity - late night parties -- which is not permitted in the law will not be allowed. The question that arises in our minds when we hear this is the fact that whether it is justified or not.
We as youngsters often tend to rebel whenever somebody tries to put a leash on our party plans but then again there is no denying the fact that as far as legalities go, they are been broken and shattered every day in a million different spheres when we talk about Goa. Let's put aside the crazy and irrational argument of these parties affecting our so called 'culture ' and try to argue our case rationally.
We cannot really blame our Minister Vinod Palyekar demanding a ban on drug-ridden rave parties on beaches in the coastal state and alleging that the coast is infested with the sale and trafficking of drugs and there is absolutely no control over it. Of course thinking from his point of view any country needs to be protected from this.
But then again if they shut down Goa for us we will obviously find another way, another state, another place to get a shot of loosing ourselves in loud music and forgetting our troubles.
How many places can they lockdown? Is there truely a solution to this mess, in fact to some of us this isn't even a problem. Can there be a solution that satisfies both the security worries and the party animals. Well I don't really have an answer for that but it is surely food for thought for us as well as the administration. I'm sure they don't want to give our generation another reason to come together and protest right?
