FREE APP FOR DATA PROTECTION

Our country ,INDIA is on fast track of and it is necessary to ensure safety of the population from online attack. To strengthen digital India initiative and to promote cyber security the government has launched malware analysis centre called the Cyber SwatchhaKendra(CSK).it envisages creating a secure cyber ecosystem in the country.
The requirement comes at a time when India is reeling from cyber attack in it’s financial sector and secondly due to demonetisation act more are turning toward digital payments.The website launched by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MEITY),worked with different internet service providers,banks and anti-virus companies in the industry for providing user the digital facility to notify, enable cleaning and securing systems of end users so as to prevent further infections. The new website provides information and tools to users to secure their devices. It also offers tools from quick heal antivirus to check infection on devices. As of now 58 ISP’s and 13 banks have come on board to use this system.
The minister of electronics and information technology has said that India is going to take a lead in digitization process and they have already joined distinguished club of the country that already have malware cleaning system for the use of it’s citizens. He would like ISP’S9(INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER )to come on board and bring more users for free services when any has being detected in their system. By the end of 2017,the IT ministry will come up with new architecture that will allow it to work with state governments and sectoral CERT’s under CERT-IN to maintain stricter vigil on the country’s digital ecosystem.
The project has a budget outlay of Rs 90 crore spread over a period of 5 years.
All alerts related to any malicious content penetrating into user’s system will first be disseminated from the Kendra to the different ISP’s who will further pass it on to the users through messages and e-mails notifications based on these alerts users can visit the CSK website, to download the various tools to clean their systems for free.
Following are the antivirus tools introduced for cyber threats-
1. M-KAVACH
This tool is a comprehensive mobile device security for android devices.It addresses threats related to malware that steals personal data and credentials ,misuse WIFI and Bluetooth resources ,lost or stolen mobile devices,spam messages ,premium rate SMS’s and unwanted incoming calls.
2. USB Pratirodh
A desktop security solution to protect from USB mass storage device threats.
3. AppSamvid
A desktop solution that projects systems by allowing installation of genuine applications through a white listing.This helps in preventing threats from malicious applications .
Browser JSGuard
This tool is a browser extension which detects and defends malicious HTML and Java Script attacks made through the web browser .it alerts the user on visiting any malicious web pages and provides the detailed analysis threat report of the web page.
The free bot and malware removing tool app are available in google play store or can be downloaded in the website www.cyberswachhtakendra.gov.in
