I firmly believe that there is a lot of scope for game developers in India. The population of our nation is close to 1.2 billion out of which about nearly 50% of the population is under the age of 25. So, if the youth is interested in this profession, we can have a great future in this domain of game development as the people of this age tend to be more enthusiastic about such things.

Now there are some problems that the gaming industry is facing in India. Firstly, there an educational institute are not keen to include game development in their curriculum. If it included in the curriculum as a full time course in various schools and colleges across India, then it would be a great boost for the gaming industry.

Secondly, game developers have to train on their own resources, and hence are self taught. They are not given any sort of professional guidance. Investors are not very enthusiastic in putting in their money in this industry since a high amount of risk is involved.

For the game industry to flourish it is extremely important that the quality of the games is good which requires a high amount of skill and dedication. The uprising of various gaming studios is encouraging more and more people to take this as a profession. If gaming didn't had any scope in India, then why would STEAM had invested in INR(Indian Rupees).

National and international competition such as the Nasscom Game Development Conference and Microsoft Imagine Cup are a great platform for game enthusiasts. They would provide a global exposure to the people interested in game development since they can represent their games at the national and international markets.

The scope of game development in India has a bright future with more and more people taking keen interest in this profession. International markets are investing in gaming industry and the outcome have been pretty good with gaming studios like UBISOFT and EA Sports are enveloping the global gaming market
